World Peace Day
Cowichan Valley Quakers made 36 of the 4000 or so Peace Flags that were made in the Cowichan Valley as part of Sept 21, 2016 World Peace Day actions. Some of us also participated in a peace flag ceremony attended by about 200 students and other community members on Friday, September 23.
Cowichan Tribes Elder Sarah Modeste spoke at the Peace Flag Ceremony, sharing that many years ago her Grandmother prophesied that 2016 would be the year where people from all 4 directions unite for peace.
